Floral Preservation Questions
While our preserved flowers are stunning and carefully maintained, it is natural for some color changes during the drying process.
Most flowers tend to dry with a darker hue; for example, naturally dried and preserved red flowers will deepen in color, white roses typically turn ivory/amber, and hot-pink flowers may shift toward purple.
Additionally, some flowers may develop translucent spots as part of their natural preservation once in resin.
To help you maintain your desired look, we offer color correction services for most flowers and colors, although available options can vary depending on the specific flower type. This ensures that your arrangement remains as beautiful and true to its original color as possible!
Air bubbles are common but I'm proud to say that the resin I use and meticulous techniques I implement do eliminate nearly all air bubbles, ensuring extraordinary clarity. Photos are never enhanced; they show true quality. Darker flowers can make tiny air bubbles more visable vs. lighter color flowers.
While some flowers may create tiny bubbles, they don't affect the overall stunning work of art!
At Forever Designs by Vanessa, we use high-quality casting resins that are standard among professional resin artists and include UV inhibitors to help slow down the natural aging process. While all epoxy resin is sensitive to UV rays and will gradually turn amber or yellow over time—typically over several years—this color change is an expected part of resin’s natural aging. To preserve the clarity and beauty of your resin piece for as long as possible, we recommend keeping it out of direct sunlight and away from prolonged UV exposure. By taking these precautions, you can enjoy your Forever Designs by Vanessa creation for many years with minimal discoloration.
Keep your piece out of direct sunlight, preferably in a shaded area.
Keep away from heat, resin will yellow when exposed to UV rays and excessive heat. Treat it like glass and avoid scratching or dropping it. Do not use abrasive chemicals too clean it, such as acetone. To clean, wipe down with a microfiber towel and use car polish or a colorless, gentle oil (mineral oil, coconut oil, silicone oil) to restore the shiny surface.
We can preserve mostly all types of flowers, with the exception of succulents, which are not suitable for preservation but can be replaced with high-quality silk alternatives.
While some flowers like anemones, dahlias, scabiosa, and mums tend to wilt, these are still preservable; we carefully deconstruct and reconstruct delicate blooms by gluing them back together to maintain their original beauty.
This means the floral considerations we share are meant as helpful guidelines, but they do not limit our ability to preserve your chosen flowers! Our goal is to create lasting keepsakes that honor your floral arrangements, regardless of the variety.

Air bubbles are common but I'm proud to say that the resin I use and process I work with, eliminates almost all or most of them, so your pieces will be more clear than anything! Check it out by zooming in real close on any posted picture on Social media! (I NEVER photoshop). Depending on the flowers you have, some can create small air bubbles that rise within 24 hours of curing but they will never take over your piece. Small mirco bubbles are a natural and expected imperfection that can arise and if it can be fixed, it will be.
